After growing up in the Atlanta area, Dr. Ajay B. Patel received his Bachelor of Science in physics with the highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then went on to complete his medical education at the prestigious Mayo Clinic School of Medicine located in Rochester, Minnesota and his internship and radiation oncology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. During his residency, he participated in multiple visiting resident programs at both the Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis in gynecologic oncology, endocrinology oncology and brachytherapy and the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute in pediatric proton therapy. Throughout his training, he has developed an expertise utilizing IMRT and SBRT to treat lung, colorectal and head and neck cancers.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys biking, traveling, hiking, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.
